Project Motor Racing Confirm The TVR Tuscan T400R

April 8, 2025 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

Having recently announced that the 2004/2005 GT championship class will be part of the upcoming sim racing title, now Project Motor Racing confirm the TVR Tuscan T400R as another car from that era.

Founded in 1946 by Trevor Wilkinson, Blackpool-based TVR had reintroduced the Tuscan name in 1989 with a one-make race series, and then a completely separate road car with the Tuscan Speed Six in 1999. Along with the production model, the TVR T400R shared the distinctive and now iconic design, and a total of seven were built between 2000 and 2004. While it didn’t lead to a new one-make series, it competed until 2006 at Le Mans, and in both the British GT Championship and American Le Mans series.

The T400R took a variety of wins and podiums in various series and events, including the British GT championship, the Suzuka 1000kms and more.

The decision to recreate the ’04 and ’05 GT cars is an interesting one as the field includes some unique race machines already confirmed for the sim, including the Dodge Viper, Saleen S7-R, Gillet Vertigo, Lister Storm GT and Mosler MT900R. Especially for British fans, with Mosler, Lister and TVR all being fairly well-known manufacturers and popular underdog brands against the likes of Ferrari and Porsche.

It’ll be interesting to see what other eras Project Motor Racing might include as official content, and also whether the expanding circuit roster will be tailored to the classic GT cars, for example. The announcement post also mentions the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Maserati entries by name, usggesting they could be announced soon
