Project Motor Racing Will Include The 2004 Mosler MT900R

March 24, 2025 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

The roster of classic GT cars is growing for the upcoming sim racing title, as now Project Motor Racing will include the 2004 Mosler MT900R. It follows on from recent reveals of the Saleen S7-R and Gillet Vertigo from the same season.

From a manufacturer founded by Warren Mosler in 1985, the MT900R features a restricted Chevrolet 5.7 litre V8 engine putting out 450bhp and 425Nm of torque in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive package weighing 1100kg.

It debuted in 2001 at the 24 Hours at Daytona, but it was 2003 when the MT900R won both the GTS division in the 24 Hours at Daytona and the British GT Championship. It was rare on both road and track as a hand-built special which would also take wins and podiums in the Bathurst 24 Hour and in the Spanish GT championship. Rule changes saw it succeeded by the MT900M in the 2010 Super GT series, but Mosler Automotive merged with Rossion in 2013.

With Rossion seemingly dormant since 2021, it’s nice to be able to relive the glory days of Mosler, especially as there were European manufacturing facilities based just down the road from ORD headquarters in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

While cars like the Ferrari 550 GTS, Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari 360 Modena and ubiquitous Porsche 911 GTR might have dominated the sport in terms of both entries and results, that era of GT racing featured a number of more unusual entries in world and national series. And it’ll be great to get the chance to experience them once more.

Especially with Project Motor Racing expected to launch on consoles in addition to the PC release, published by GIANTS Software, and using the same graphic engine utilised for their Farming Simulator titles, in conjunction with the custom-built Hadron physics system.

Keep up with the latest Project Motor Racing news and updates here, along with the Project Motor Racing car list and track list so far.
