The latest free Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.46 adds Skoda’s VGT and Afeela, bringing two concept and prototype cars to the racing game alongside a 1970s classic muscle car.
With a carbon monocoque, all-wheel drive and 1,071bhp, the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo joins the range of cars exclusively designed for Gran Turismo, and combines the inspiration of the 1957 Skoda 1100 OHC developed to race at Le Mans with modern materials and four electric motors. It has a total weight of just 1,300 kilograms and sits low to the ground with a height of under a metre. Along with AWD, it uses a similar independent-arms pushrod suspension to Formula E cars, with a single seat cockpit.
Probably more exciting for many people is the prospect of real cars from the Czech brand appearing in the Gran Turismo series for the first time, something that’s been hinted at on social media. Particularly cars like the Fabia used in WRC, the Octavia vRS, and even the Yeti.
The other unusual choice for this update is the previously revealed addition of the Afeela Prototype 2024, which is the result of Sony and Honda working together on a new electric car brand. It’s a saloon with all-wheel drive and more than 400hp, but mobility and entertainment are more of the focus for the real car when it is due to go into production in 2026.
And the final new car is more for the traditionalists, with the classic 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Sport Coupe.
Other changes in the update include an extra Collection: Ferrari 12-Cylinder Engines menu in the Cafe, three new World Circuit events, San Diego added as a featured Curation in Scapes and more. The update also adds support for the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Extreme rim and wheel base combination.
