It’s not long until the release of the new game, and the latest in a flood of footage is an EA Sports F1 24 gameplay first look video, featuring five circuits in both dry and wet conditions.
The tracks shown include Spa, Silverstone and Lusail (formerly Losail), which have all received updates for the latest in the official F1 game series, along with Monaco and Shanghai. The iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium has the most noticeable changes, with the entire location being remade to feature new kerbs, gravel run-off areas, and what appears to be a more realistic track camber.
Changes were made both for safety, and to introduce a new corner for motorcycle racing, achieving the safety measures required for both World Superbikes and MotoGP.
The updates to the remade Silverstone and Lusail are more subtle, but there are definitely tweaks to kerbin and run-off areas.
The track changes are in addition to the new Dynamic Handling model being used, with updates to how the tyres, suspension, aerodynamics and power delivery are calculated and delivered in the game, which were detailed in a previous video.
F1 24 also features a reworked Driver Career mode, including the Two-Player option, with the choice to develop the stories of legends including Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, or to build your own legacy by working you way up from Formula 2.
F1 2024 is listed for the PC at £59.99 for the Standard Edition or £79.99 for the Champions Edition on Steam, Epic Games Store and the EA App. For the PlayStation 4 and 5, it’s £69.99 for the Standard Edition on the PlayStation Store, or £89.99 for the Champions Edition on the PlayStation Store. And the same prices apply for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S with the Standard Edition and Champions Edition Microsoft Store listings.
