Licensed Hondas Confirmed For JDM: Japanese Drift Master

February 28, 2025 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

Due to launch on March 26th, 2025, you’ll now have cars from four manufacturers to choose from, with licensed Hondas confirmed for JDM: Japanese Drift Master. The company joins Nissan, Mazda and Subaru in allowing their vehicles to appear in the simcade racer which uses manga to progress the storyline.

The exact cars haven’t been revealed yet, although the very short Honda announcement video shows a stationary second generation hybrid Honda NSX, which launched in 2016 with a 3.5 litre twin-turbocharged V6 and three electric motors, putting out a combined 573hp (or 602hp in the Type S launched in 2021). It also features all-wheel drive, an aluminium space frame chassis, and a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Production ended in 2022, and it’s a fairly rare car on the roads with a total of 2,908 produced across both versions.

Honda has never made a large number of rear-wheel drive cars, so the most obvious model which will probably also appear will be the S2000. Other choices are generally kei cars like the Honda Beat and S660

But given how iconic Honda JDM models have been, some people have swapped around Civics, or just learned to drift front-wheel drive cars.

Developed by Polish studio Gaming Factory, JDM: Japanese Drift Master was originally announced in 2023 for the PC, and aims to take you into the world of Japanese car culture via the story of Polish driver Touma, as he races with friends and rivals. There are more than 40 narrative events and additional sidequests, with hand-drawn manga pages illustrating your journey, and over 250km of roads in the finctional prefecture of Guntama, which was inspired by the real Honshu region.

You can find JDM: Japanese Drift Master for the PC via Steam, the Epic Game Store, and GoG.com. Keep up with all the latest JDM: Japanese Drift Master news, updates, DLC and more, here.
