GTRevival Will Include Sebring and Lime Rock Park Circuits

While all the screenshots shared show far have featured cars racing around Interlagos, we now know GTRevival will include Sebring and Lime Rock Park circuits when it arrives.

Straight4 Studios CEO Ian Bell shared the information on social media, offering WMD3 access as a reward for the first people to guess the tracks correctly from some cryptic crossword clues. And both are well-known American motorsport venues which have hosted series including IMSA.

So while they might not make GTRevival stand out, it’s reassuring to see that some of the circuits you’d hope and expect to be included are being confirmed.

Lime Rock Park is one of the oldest continously operated road racing venue in America, having originally been built in 1956. The first race took place in 1957, and it was notably owned by Skip Barber for 37 years.

The relatively 1.5 mile course is set on the undulating terrain of the Bershire Mountaints in Lakeville, Connecticut. Something which is apparent when you tackling fast right-hand corner named The Uphill, and descend through The Downhill onto the main start and finish straight. Whether or not you’re running one of the configurations featuring chicanes, it’s a constant battle to balance your car through the corners featuring elevation changes.

But Sebring International Raceway started hosted races even earlier, in 1950, on the former Hendricks Army Airfield, and continues to occupy a portion of Sebring Regional Airport in Flordia. Inspired by European endurance racing, the first event was a six hour competition on New Years Eve, which grew into the 12 Hours in 1952. And in 1959, Sebring also hosted the first Formula One race in America.

The current full circuit is 3.741 miles with 17 turns. There’s little elevation or camber, meaning that it can be particularly difficult to drive in wet weather. And some sections still use the concrete from the original arifield, meaning they’re rough and bumpy. The final corner at Sunset Bend is particularly tricky as you’re coming off the long Ullman Straight and trying to maintain your speed to the start and finish line.
