You can currently grab F1 Manager 2024 for free on the Epic Games Store. It’s available for nothing until February 20th, 2025, and you just need to log in and add it to your library. Obviously this deal is only available for the PC version of the motorsport management game, although the Switch version is currently on sale at 60% off until the 4th March.
And it’s certainly worth trying out F1 Manager 2024 as the latest, best, and seemingly the last, of the official series developed by Frontier Developments since 2022. Along with the F1 teams, drivers and circuits, it also includes F2 and F3.
Securing an F1 license doesn’t tend to be cheap, which is probably why the last attempt at an official management title was back in 2000. In a financial statement released in September 2024, Frontier Developments revealed it had held commercial discussions with an IP partner that resulted in the voluntary termination of a contract for a future game, and it was later confirmed that F1 Manager 2025 was the cancelled title being referred to. Originally the license agreement was for four installments.
Unfortunately the F1 Manager series wasn’t a successful venture for the Cambridge-based studio. It consistently sold much less than expected, with the company share price dropping 40% after the release of the 2022 game, and a number of redundancies revealed shortly after the release of the 2023 instalment along with spending cuts and a freeze on recruitment. F1 Manager 2024 was the best version in series with requested features including the Create A Team mode, along with more detailed personnel management involving a driver and staff mentality system, and subsequent updates adding features including pit starts.
Given that the relatively niche area of motorsport management sims probably won’t ever deliver the sales figures expected for something with an official F1 license, it’s likely F1 Manager 2024 will remain the last attempt for while, so it’s definitely worth downloading for free if you’ve never tried any of the games in the series, or didn’t upgrade from a previous title.

It’s also still available for the PC via Steam, the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store, and the Switch via the Nintendo eShop.
