Improvements to graphic rendering, reworks of Switzerland and the Rhine region of Germany, and the drivable Scania Demo Centre in Sweden are the main highlights with Euro Truck Simulator 2 Update 1.50 released.
The graphical changes include adding Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) to smooth out jagged edges and flickering, a smoother transitions between shadows and light, improvements to how soft particles are handled, and optimisation to how dynamic lighting is evalutated.
There’s also been a noticeable change to make the user interface more minimalistic and easier to access, including using a wheel or gamepad. And lane assistance is now available in the driving options, with different modes available to set the right level of help.
Swizerland has had a major rework, including a redesign of cities and road networks, and changes to the economy to better refelct the real world, such as a chocolate factory depot. And along with added sections of the A9 motorway and the N19, you’l now be able to drive undernweath Mont Blanc between Geneva and Aosta in Italy.
Four cities in Germany have also been reworked, with Dortmund, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Duisburg getting upgraded, and you’re now able to drive around the Scania Demo Centre test track in Sodertalje, Sweden, replicated on a 1:1 scale, assuming you own the Scandinavia DLC to be able to visit it. Another DLC-related update comes for the Wielton Trailer Pack DLC, which added the new Container Master NS3 P40SL and NS3 P20 SL TANK.

And to celebrate the release of the Nebraska DLC for American Truck Simulator, both games and associated DLC are currently discounted on Steam until May 30th. Upcoming DLC already announced include Greece and Nordic Horizons for Euro Truck Simulator 2, with the latter including areas of Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
