November 13, 2020 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

Things might be winding down for the racing game as we prepare for the release of Gran Turismo 7, but there’s a new car and competitions to enjoy as GT Sport update 1.62 adds the Toyota GR Yaris.

Despite the fact Polyphony Digital and the sim racing world are looking forwards to the release of the new Gran Turismo title, there are some reasons to be excited about the arrival of the little Toyota.

Mainly because the Toyota Gazoo Racing Yaris was created to meet homologation for the World Rally Championship, which meant 2,500 road versions were produced. Changes include a switch to three doors, a 3.5 inch lower carbon composite roof, and a 257hp turbocharged three cylinder engine putting power through a four-wheel drive system.

So it’s a pretty special hatchback, and the Toyota GR Yaris 1st Edition RZ High Performance is now available for you to drive in Gran Turismo Sport. And you’ll need it for both the GR Yaris Time Trial competition,w hich runs until December 13th, 2020 on Sardegna Windmills, and if you want to take part in the ‘Fulfilling My Dream with the GR Yaris’ Scapes photo competition.

The Scapes competition is particularly interesting as 1 entry winning the Grand prix Award, and three Excellent Work Award winners will be given a PlayStattion 5 by Toyota. You’ll need to follow the Toyota Gazoo Racing Global Twitter account and tweet them your entry with the hashtag #GR_Yaris_Dream.
