Gran Turismo Sport Update v.1.64 and BoP changes

March 27, 2021 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

Last updated on April 28th, 2021 at 10:26 am

A very small download has arrived with Gran Turismo Sport update v1.64 released for the Polyphony Digital title, along with a wider Balance of Performance update.

There were rumours that GT Sport could receive something more substantial following the news Gran Turismo 7 has been delayed until 2022. But the small 158Mb patch simply fixes a yellow flag issue, with some sim racers receiving penalties for overtaking when the flags didn’t seem to be in operation.

The last GT Sport update was v1.63, released in February, which tweaked the still contentious penalty system.

  • Fixed an issue wherein the yellow flag would not display correctly in certain situations.

Along with this issue, there have also been performance changes for cars ahead of the FIA Exhibition series kicking off. Three of the GR.4 cars are affected, with the Jaguar F-Type, Lexus RC and McLaren 650S all getting a power reduction. The power and weight values are when BoP is turned on within the game, which may have an impact on your car choices in the future.
