Arriving this week after the usual teaser from Polyphony Digitial CEO Kazunori Yamauchi, there are four new cars coming in the next Gran Turismo 7 update. Likely to be released on Tursday January 30th, two of the cars are instantly recognisable, with the other pair recquiring a little more guesswork.

If you happened to watch the broadcast of the Gran Turismo World Finals for the Nations Cup, you’ll have seen the reveal of the F3500-A, which was then used for the second race of the three in the event. It’s similar to an early 1990s F1 car, with a naturally-aspirated 784 horsepower V4, and a weight of just 505kg, making for an exciting experience.

Around the same time the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N was announced to be included in the January 2025 Gran Turismo 7 update, before it was used in the Nations Cup Qualifier, with the electric hatchback capable of 161mph and 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds due to it producing 650hp. And if you streamed the Nations Cup in-game, then you’ll receive the Hyundai as a gift. This follows on from an announcement by Hyundai N back in May 2024 that they would be collaborating with Gran Turismo at various events including the Nurburburgring 24 and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The other two cars rely on keen eyesight and guesswork, with the compact car at the rear of the image looking a lot like a third or fourth generation Honda Civic. The lines on the bonnest suggest that it might be the fourth gen produced from 1987 until 1991, with the most powerful SiR model (1.6i-VT in Europe) being the most likely candidate for including with the 1.6 litre SOHC 16 valve D16A6 engine putting out 108bhp.

And the last to be identified appears to be the Toyota C-HR. a subcompact crossover SUV produced since 2016. Presumably it’ll be the 2 litre hyrbid version with 220hp, although it’s limited to a 110mph top speed, and the design of the headlights suggests it’s probably a 2020 facelift model.
