Forza Horizon 4 Is Coming To Steam On March 9

In a move to boost the PC popularity of the game, Forza Horizon 4 is coming to Steam on March 9, 2021. It’s not the first Microsoft Studios game to appear on the platform, but it’s the first of the Forza series.

Forza Horizon 4 was released for the Xbox One and PC via the Microsoft Store in October 2018. Developers Playground Game have partnered with Sumo Nottingham to make it available via Steam, joining a number of other franchises including Halo, Gears of War, and more.

The good news is that the Steam version of Forza Horizon 4 will support crossplay with those who bought it for the Xbox One and PC via the Microsoft Store, and even players using Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on Android devices. So there should be plenty of people to race against, particularly with the frequent new series and content updates.

The only downside is that you won’t be able to access Forza Horizon 4 saves from other platforms. And the same is probably true for any Steam edition save games, so it’s really for people who haven’t tried the latest in the Horizon series on the PC yet.

So it’s good news for existing Forza Horizon 4 players, as there’s a whole potential new userbase of racers who might be coming fresh to the game. And it’s a nice new option for anyone who fancies a more casual arcade racing experience and hasn’t already invested via the Microsoft Store.
