In addition to watching live, fans can also follow the competition through the Trackmania Twitch stream. The main partner of the event is Toyota Gazoo Racing, and players can already race three cars from the brand available in the Grand League club, featruing the colours of the World Cup and Toyota Gazoo Racing, plus more branded content after the event.

“The combination of our passion for competition and the art of pushing beyond limits, whether behind the wheel or with a gamepad controller in hand, will allow us once again to bring together these two worlds of sport and esports throughout the 2022 World Cup” said Omar Benabdallah, Esports Manager at Ubisoft Nadeo.

The TrackMania Grand League World Cup 2022 Trailer

The Trackmania series began in 2003 and has almost reached two decades of gaming since then with titles including TrackMania Nations, United and Turbo. The most recent version is once again Trackmania, with a free-to-play base game and a paid subscription for additional features including an in-game track editor and online events. The Trackmania Grand League is supported by the developers as the main competitive series, with 16 solo players competing for glory and prize pools. The top three based on results so far are Mudda, CarlJr and Bren, but the addition of 8 new racers through the open qualification process could produce an upset.

You can find Trackmania for the PC via the Epic Games Store or the Ubisoft Store. The most recent console version was Trackmania Turbo, available for the Xbox One via the Microsoft Store, or the PS4 via the PlayStation Store.
