GRID Autosport: Touring Legends DLC available

September 22, 2014 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

Last updated on January 20th, 2021 at 03:14 pm

The Touring Legends pack is now available for GRID: Autosport for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with two new tracks, three new championships, five cars and three achievements, worth 60 achievements points in total. And it lives up to the name, with two great British circuits and five of the most famous vehicles to have competed in the British Touring Car Championship. Check out the promo video below for all the action.

GRID Autosport: Touring Legends Tracks

The first of the two tracks now available is the famous Donington Park. This Leicestershire track is right next to East Midlands airport, leading some to believe the aviation fuel can make the surface a little slippery, but has been hosting racing since the 1970s, including a single F1 race, MotoGP, British and World Superbikes, and obviously, British Touring Cars.

The famous corners include the drop down Craner Curves into the Old Hairpin, the blind entry to the right hand Craner Curves, and the Melbourne Hairpin.

Layouts included:

  • Grand Prix Circuit
  • Grand Prix Circuit Reversed
  • National Circuit
  • National Circuit Reversed

The second track is another British classic, and this time it’s Silverstone in Northamptonshire. Along with touring cars, Silverstone is the home of Formula 1 in the UK, having first hosted the British Grand Prix in 1948. It’s also hosted MotoGP, World and British Superbikes and a wide variety of car racing including World Endurance, GT racing, F3, F2, and more.

Silverstone is also part of the GRID Autosport Touring Legends pack

The circuit has undergone design changes in recent years, but has retained the Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel sequence of corners which are all vital to getting a good lap, along with the high speed run from Club and Abbey.

Layouts included:

  • Grand Prix Circuit
  • Grand Prix Circuit Reversed
  • GP 2009 Circuit
  • International Circuit

GRID Autosport: Touring Legends Pack Cars

The five cars included in the Touring Legends pack are all top choices which will be familiar to any fans of the British Touring Car Championship in years gone by. They are:

  • Volvo 850 Estate Touring Car
  • Alfa Romeo 155 Touring Car
  • Audi A4 Quattro Touring Car
  • BMW E30 Touring Car
  • Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth Touring Car

The Volvo 850 was probably the most famous car to never win the championship – the estates began racing in 1994, prepared by Tom Walkinshaw Racing and driven by Ricard Rydell and Jan Lammers. In 1995 regulations meant a switch to saloons with reasonable success.

The Alfa Romeo 155 took the British Touring Car Championship in 1994 with Gabriele Tarquini, while the Audi A4 dominated the 1996 championship so much in the hands of Frank Biela that four-wheel drives were penalised the next season.

Finally the pairing of the BMW M3 E30 and Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth were the dominate forces in touring cars in the late 80s and early 90s. This was the era of Andy Rouse, Frank Sytner, and Rob Gravett. Only Vauxhall were able to mount a consistent challenge to the two cars.

GRID Autosport: Touring Legends Championships and Achievements

There are three single player championships included, which are:

  • Touring Legends British Championship
  • Touring Legends Euro Championship
  • Touring Legends International Championship

The Achievements are:

  • British Touring Legend (Win the British Championship): 20 Points/Silver Trophy
  • European Touring Legend (Win the Euro Championship): 20 Points/Silver Trohpy
  • International Touring Legend (Win the International Championship): 20 Points/Silver Trophy

If you’re an Autosport Season Pass holder, you’ve got full access to the cars and track already. If you need to pick it up, it’s £10.39 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
