New Foldable Next Level Racing Formula Lite Pro Cockpit

July 9, 2024 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

If you’re short on space and need somewhere to mount a direct drive wheel with up to 10Nm of feedback, then the new foldable Next Level Racing Formula Lite Pro cockpit might be the solution.

Lightweight, folding cockpits have been around for a long time, from Next Level Racing and other manufacturers. But with the massive rise in DD wheels over recent years, they now have to cope with a lot more force. So the Formula Lite Pro should be fine for entry-level and mid-range wheelbases up to the popular Fanatec CSL DD or Moza R9.

Aside from the increased strength, the Formula Lite Pro Cockpit will be mostly familiar to anyone that has used a similar product in the past. You can fold it down even without removing your wheel and pedals, with roller wheels to help you move it around quickly and easily.

Setting up the cockpit and folding it down uses a quick assembly process which should only take a few minutes, allowing you to race regularly even if you don’t have the space for a permanent set-up, and want to move away from having a desk-mounted wheel, which can be an issue with stronger DD set-ups. Plus if also comes with a formula seat, which has increased padding in key areas like the lower back, thighs and shoulders, a breathable mesh fabric and soft foam lumber support, which you’ll definitely notice during longer races.

The new foldable Next Level Racing Formula Lite Pro Cockpit costs £279.99, and will support a max weight of 130kg or 20 stone and 7 lbs, and there are multiple adjustment points for the seat, wheel deck and pedal support to accomodate different heights and personal preferences.

If you prefer a more upright GT-style position, then the alternative is the existing GTLite Pro, which is available for the same price, and also includes a shifter and handbrake mount. The GT Lite Pro is also able to handle DD wheelbases up to 13Nm, a little more than the Formula version.

You can find the Next Level Racing Formula Lite Pro Cockpit for sale directly from the company. And it’ll probably be stock soon through various retailers, including Currys and Overclockers.
