The revised FIA Gran Turismo Championships 2020 will start from Saturday, April 25th with updates to the schedule and formats of the Nations Cup and Manufacturer Series.
Both competitions were originally set to begin on March 18th, but Stage 1 of the championships became an exhibition series due to the effects of the global pandemic, along with the cancellation of the World Tour 2020 Nurburgring live event.
So before the revised FIA Gran Turismo Championships 2020 resume, Polyphony Digital has already announced various big changes coming in the next Gran Turismo Sport update, which must surely arrive before the series kick off on April 25th.
But there have also been some changes to the formats of the Nations Cup and Manufacturer Series. While the Nations cup will continue to run on Tuesday and Saturday, the Manufacturer series switches to Wednesday and Saturday. So both series will alternate throughout the day.
Event times and entry slots for the EMEA region are;
- Tuesday & Wednesday : 14:00, 15:20, 16:40, 18:00, 19:20 UTC (5 Slots)
- Saturday – Nations Cup : 13:00, 15:40, 18:20 UTC (3 Slots)
- Saturday – Manufacturer Series: 14:20, 17:00, 19:40 UTC (3 Slots)
There’s also a new calendar announced for the two series. Three rounds will feature a special Top 16 Superstars race with top drivers matched together and bonus points awarded. Elgibility includes being registered as a ‘Star Player, and the Driver Rating or acquired points for the Stage must be within the top 16 positions of all competitors.

The tracks and cars are yet to be confirmed. Also to be announced at a later date will be the World Tour 2020 live events series calendar, and the World Finals 2020 details.
So it’s time to get practising if you plan on competing in the revised FIA Gran Turismo Championships 2020. Anyone can take part in the online series within the ‘Sport’ mode of Gran Turismo Sport. But you’ll need to be 18 or over to be able to take part via the Star Player Registration form, and in the World Tours and World Finals (21 or over on the start date in Saudia Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates).
